Way of working

A career coaching trajectory takes around 5 coaching sessions, excluding the intake. The coaching takes place in a private room at ’Thuis aan de Amstel’ in Amsterdam, can be done online via Google Meet or Teams or we can go for a walk along the Amstel river. In career coaching we work with a very structured approach as outlined below:

  • Intake: During the intake we will define a goal for your coaching and find out if we would like to work together. We might discover together that it is better to start with a life coaching trajectory.
  • Value session: We fully focus on what is important to you in your life, personally and professionally.
  • Wanting session: We fully focus on what you want to see back in work
  • Talent and theme session: We fully focus on your talents and which talents you would like to work with. We will also reflect on your ‘theme’ in life. Which challenge do you regularly face on your path, and would you like to further develop so you can grow as a person?
  • Need and nice to haves: During this session we will focus on your need and nice to haves, you can think of the practical requirements like salary, maximum travel time etc. After that we can focus on your elevator pitch. Based on all the input from the different sessions, what is the story you would like to share with your network so they can support you in your job search. We can also start brainstorming about potential fits (organisations and jobs).
  • Brainstorm: During the last session we agree together what you still need. E.g. we can further brainstorm together or come up with a clear action plan for your job search.
  • Confidentiality: I am a registered and accredited Senior Practitioner Coach at the NOBCO (Foundation Dutch Order of Professional Coaches) and work according to their Global Code of Ethics.

After each session I will send you exercises you can do as input for our next session. The outcome of career coaching is a clear personal profile including potential directions you can take (companies and jobs). Since I have extensive experience in reading resumes, motivation letters and doing job interviews I can also support you in preparing your application process(es).
